  • Cells of animals can vary in size and shape, but they have many features in mutual.  The diagram shown is a cell that might be found lining the intestines. Color according to the directions below; the numbers correspond to the numbers on the cell diagram.

    1. The cell membrane surrounds the cell and acts every bit a barrier.  It controls what comes in and out of the jail cell. Color the membrane light brown.
    2. The membrane can have structures on its surface that assist the jail cell motion, or motion particles inside the torso. This cell has structures called cilia which can serve to sweep particles by the cells.  Color the cilia yellowish.
    3. Creature and plant cells are both eukaryotes, significant they have their Dna enclosed in the nucleus.  The DNA contains the prison cell's genetic information which and then controls the cell's activities. Color the nuclear membrane nighttime brown.
    4. Within the nucleus is a structure called the nucleolus, whose job is to make ribosomes.  Colour the nucleolus black.
    5. Deoxyribonucleic acid tin can be wound around proteins and create big visible structures in the nucleus called chromosomes.  Color the chromosomes dark green.
    6. The interior of the cell is made of a fluid called cytoplasm.  Embedded in the cytoskeleton are microtubules that assistance the cell maintain its shape and course.  Color the microtubules green.
    7. Throughout the cell are minor circular structures called ribosomes.  They receive instructions from the nucleus to brand proteins that will serve as the organism'due south building blocks for making claret, musculus, and other tissues.  Ribosomes can be found all throughout the cytoplasm, but many are located on the endoplasmic reticulum. Discover all the ribosomes and color blood-red.
    8. The crude endoplasmic reticulum (rough Due east.R.) appears bumpy because it has many ribosomes fastened. Its main job is to ship substances throughout the cell, mainly proteins.  Color the rough E.R. light blue.
    9. The shine endoplasmic reticulum looks similar to the rough, but it does non have ribosomes.  It has a few jobs, such equally creating and storing lipids. Color the smooth E.R. lite bluish.
    10. Cells need to take a source  of energy to power all of its processes.  The mitochondria takes glucose from food and converts information technology into a grade of cellular energy called A.T.P.  Color the mitochondria orange.
    11. Some cells have special structures used for digesting substances.  For instance, cells in your oral fissure have lysosomes that contain enzymes to begin breaking down nutrient.  Color the lysosomes majestic.
    12. Proteins fabricated by the ribosomes eventually achieve the golgi apparatus.  Hither the proteins are packaged into vesicles which can exist exported out of the cell to the part of the body that needs them.  Color the golgi apparatus pink.
    13. Proteins will exit the cells in packages called vesicles, which appear as bubbling about the golgi apparatus.  Colour the vesicles yellow.

Match the cell part with its part:
    1. Mitochondria
    2. Ribosomes
    3. Golgi Apparatus
    4. Lysosomes
    5. Nucleus
    6. Nucleolus
    7. Cilia
    8. Microtubules
    9. Crude Endoplasmic Reticulum
    10. Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum
    1. transports proteins
    2. packages proteins for export
    3. moves the cell (or things past the prison cell)
    4. helps maintain the cell's shape
    5. provides energy for the cell
    6. contains enzymes to break downwardly food
    7. creates and stores lipids
    8. contains the cell's chromosomes (Dna)
    9. makes proteins
    10. makes ribosomes
